Remembering Danny Cassidy

The Irish Arts Center mourns the passing of Danny Cassidy who died Saturday, October 11th, from pancreatic cancer, at the age of 65.

Musician, teacher, labor activist and author of the book How the Irish invented slang; The Secret Language of the Crossroads, Danny’s contribution to preserving Ireland’s cultural legacy was original and groundbreaking.  

We were proud to have Danny appear at the Irish Arts Center in recent years and we will all greatly miss this dynamic and vital presence
within the Irish –American community.
